Season Home Run record since 1920: percent increase, AB/HR.

Yesterday (Sept. 28, 2022) in Toronto, Yankee Aaron Judge tied Roger Maris for the most Home Runs ever in an American League (AL) season: 61. Judge has seven more regular season games. Maris had passed Babe Ruth, who hit 60.

In 1920 Ruth out homered every other team in the AL. In 1927 Ruth did it again when the Philadelphia Athletics were second to Ruth with 56 Home Runs led by Hall of Famer Al Simmons 15.
