Payroll/Wins: Cleveland very good. White Sox VERY bad.

Clinched division: Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Cleveland. (in box)

Clinched playoff: Yankees, Dodgers.

Wins as of 9/24/2024 5:00 PM  The table below will be updated but the basics are unlikely to change.

Cleveland has won it's division and spent only a little over one million dollars for each of its 90 wins.

The Yankees have two more wins but spent $3.1 million per win.

Worst of all: Chicago White Sox spent $3.6 million for each of its few 36 wins.

Dodgers lead by a lot in total home attendance (3.7) and home attendance per game; they have three more home games (against San Diego). Others over 3 million: San Diego (3.3, no more home games), Philadelphia (3.2, 2 more games), Yankees (3.0, 6 home games).

The Yankees play their final six games at home; 3 each against Baltimore and Pittsburgh). Isn't Pittsburgh in the other "league"?

Juan Soto was traded by San Diego to the Yankees between the 2023 and 2024 seasons. Yankees wins increased from 82 to 92 (possibly going as high as 98). But San Diego wins increased similarly: 82 to 90 so far. And San Diego didn't have to pay Soto $31 million in 2024. Soto becomes a free agent after the 2024 season.
